I absolutely loved EVERY exercise we did on this journey! I have always been interested in incorporating technology into my classroom, but after taking this class I learned so many new and exciting things that are so easy for us to do...and are completely free...in order to incorporate technology, especially Web 2.0 tools into our curriculum!!! If I had to pick just one, I would say the WebQuest was my favorite project, mainly because I made it so I could actually use it in my classroom next year. What an amazing way to incorporate technology, families, and students into the everyday curriculum!
This course has assisted my lifelong learning goals so much because I know how much technology will be a part of our curriculum. It is already so important, and it will only keep growing. We will need to continue our learning of the Web 2.0 tools as well as all the other aspects of technology because our students are doing the same! I have always wanted to take technology classes to help organize myself as a professional. So many of the projects that we did, especially the Social Bookmarking Project assisted in this more than I could ever imagine! I can only hope to continue to learn about all the new advances in Web 2.0 tools in order to keep up with the exciting way of life that will be such a large part of our student's lives as well!
I don't know if anything really surprised me in this class. I had taken an Integrating Technology class in Undergrad. I thought I knew all that there was to know and I wouldn't learn anything....I was amazed at how much I learned in that class! The same goes for this one, yet it wasn't surprising, because I was expecting to learn so many new and exciting new tools along the way! I guess it just continues to amaze me how easy it is to be up to date on all of the new resources on the web. I often find myself teaching my mother new things that will make her life easier, and I'm sure soon my students will be teaching me new things as well.
I don't know how much I would actually change to this course to "improve" it! In my eyes, it is already an amazing course! I actually would have liked to done a few more projects! (Simple ones that might not be as time consuming but very helpful!) I have always been interested in learning how to make my own webpage. I've tried a few years ago, and I never really made anything of them. I know many of us have webpages through our schools but I know with mine, I can't do much of anything with it besides the layout they give me. So I believe making a webpage that you can use for personal and professional use would be a great addition to this course!
I know previous to the semester I enrolled in the program we needed to have two electives. Now, we have to take Literacy Coaching instead and just one elective. I know that class will be very beneficial in the future, but I only wish we could be able to take two technology classes, especially with Harrison. I was initially signed up for Integrating Technology because I thought I would learn how to make so many things to use in my classroom. When I found out that it wasn't that type of class I was eager to switch to one that I would be able to do that! I couldn't have made a better choice by enrolling in this class!!! I would absolutely participate in another discovery program in the future. I could only imagine how much more I could learn!!!
